Legislation and judicial decisions have changed California’s worker classification environment in an attempt to make compliance easier for employers. Although these legal challenges and subsequent laws were intended to clarify the current laws, they may have only contributed to the situation’s complexity.

Cynthia Hackler Flynn, Esq. is Founder and Managing Partner of Hackler Flynn & Associates, an experienced business and employment defense law firm. She is dedicated to protecting businesses of all sizes (including Entrepreneurs!) by putting the proper contracts and agreements in place.
Cynthia has been selected as a Super Lawyer for 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020 for distinguishing herself in the practice of law. She has also been recognized as a Pasadena Top Attorney. Her firm is a certified Woman Business Enterprise (WBE) and Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB). She sits on the board of the E.O. (Entrepreneurs' Organization) Los Angeles Chapter as membership chair and runs an E.O. Accelerator Group where she mentors entrepreneurs. Additionally, she is involved in YPO and has spoken for Vistage, Entrepreneurs' Organization, the Beverly Hills Bar Association, the Irvine Chamber of Commerce, the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce, the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce, and Professionals in Human Resources Association (PIHRA).
Cynthia has recently been named to the National Small Business Association (NSBA) Leadership Council, joining other small business advocates to tackle the many critical issues facing small businesses and promote their interests to policymakers in Washington, D.C.
Before starting her practice, Cynthia worked for Krutcik & Georggin, a boutique employment law firm from 2002-2010. From 2010-2014, Cynthia litigated for two law firms, gaining extensive legal experience. In addition, Cynthia obtained her California Real Estate Salesperson's license in 2007 and received her California Broker's License in 2020.
When Cynthia is not mentoring entrepreneurs and defending business owners in court, she works out at CrossFit and spends quality time with her family.
