Course Description

Every year, the markets provide us with lessons on prudent investment strategy. With great frequency, markets offer remedial courses, covering lessons they taught in previous years. That’s why one of the best sayings is that there’s nothing new in investing, only investment history you don’t know. This session will cover 10 lessons the markets taught in 2021, many of which are repeats from prior years. Unfortunately, too many investors fail to learn them—they keep making the same errors.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify mistakes from the past

  • Determine how to avoid mistakes from the past

  • Summarize 10 lessons the market taught us in 2021

In his role as chief research officer and as a member of the firm’s Investment Policy Committee and Board of Directors, Larry regularly reviews the findings published in dozens of peer-reviewed financial journals, evaluates the outcomes, and uses the result to inform the firm’s formal investment strategy recommendations. He has had his articles published in the Journal of Accountancy, Journal of Investing, AAII Journal, Personal Financial Planning Monthly, and Journal of Indexing.

Larry’s dedication to helping others has made him a sought-after national speaker. He has made appearances on national television shows airing on NBC, CNBC, CNN, and Bloomberg Personal Finance.
